About the Speaker
Christopher was born in Salzburg in 1961. After spending four years as an assistant lecturer at Salzburg University, he shifted to music management, working with big names like Friedrich Gulda and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He also developed a successful ticketing software still used in top venues and started a puppet theatre focused on contemporary music and literature that toured internationally.
In 2010, Christopher joined Vienna's City Commissioner for Cultural Affairs and later, in March 2013, became the Head of Digital Development at the Vienna State Opera. There, he transformed the Opera into an independent producer and distributor of high-quality HD digital content. One of his key projects was implementing a new infotainment and subtitling system, installing 2,100 tablets in every seat and standing room, offering subtitles in 8 languages, and providing other features like booking drinks and personalized messages.
In 2018, Christopher launched a forward-thinking project digitizing sheet music with NEWZIK.com, replacing traditional paper scores with digital music on tablets—a huge improvement in efficiency and sustainability.
After working closely with NEWZIK for two years, he officially joined them in September 2021. He now helps cultural venues with digital transformation, including projects with La Scala in Milan and the New Cairo Opera House, where he works on video production, Smart Seats, and digital scores.
